ROLE DESCRIPTION | |
The Investment & Research Manager is responsible for overseeing investment analysis, portfolio management, and market research to support strategic decision-making in the company. This role involves conducting in-depth research on financial markets, analyzing investment opportunities, and ensuring optimal portfolio performance in alignment with regulatory guidelines and client objectives. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the Nigerian capital market, asset allocation strategies, and risk management principles. | |
JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES | |
Develop and implement investment strategies to optimize portfolio returns while managing risks. Conduct fundamental and technical research on equities, fixed income, mutual funds, and alternative investments. Monitor market trends, macroeconomic indicators, and industry developments to provide investment recommendations. Perform financial modelling, valuation analysis, and due diligence on potential investment opportunities. Prepare and present investment reports, research insights, and strategy recommendations to senior management and clients. Oversee portfolio rebalancing to align with risk tolerance, market conditions, and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and other relevant financial market guidelines. Collaborate with the business development team to create investment products and solutions tailored to client needs. Lead and mentor a team of analysts, ensuring continuous professional development and knowledge sharing. Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide insights on market conditions and portfolio performance. | |
CAPABILITIES | |
Strong knowledge of the Nigerian capital market, SEC regulations, and investment instruments. Proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and portfolio management tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and presentation abilities for clients and stakeholder engagement. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced investment environment. QUALIFICATION Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage. Minimum of 8 years of experience in investment research, portfolio management, or financial analysis. Professional certifications such as CFA, CIS (Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers), or ACCA are highly desirable. |
