Edward is a seasoned professional with over three (3) decades of cognate experience. With a knack in financial economics, operations, accounting, administration, corporate governance, investigations and business administration, he has made a mark in the development of the Nigerian Capital Market in various capacities, including regulation, strategies, reforms and change management.

He served with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) where he grew through the ranks serving across various functional departments including; Director, Market Development Department; Director, Zonal Office Coordinating Department and Director, Financial Standards & Corporate Governance Department. He was one time attached with the Financial Services Board to understudy the South African Capital Market. He served in acting capacity as Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services with the SEC; Board Member, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria; Board Member, Institute of Directors (IOD) Centre for Corporate Governance; Member, National Steering Committee for the preparation of the National Code of Corporate Governance and Member, Technical Committee on Nigeria’s Financial Inclusion.

Edward over the course of his career has championed several initiatives, processes and reforms including; the introduction of the Corporate Governance Scorecard for quoted companies in the Nigerian Capital Market (an IFC Co-sponsored Project); Co-facilitation of the first dual listing of the shares of Seplat Petroleum Development Company PLC in both the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange; cross boarder listing of MNET on the Nigerian Stock Exchange; acceptance and adoption of the International Reporting Standard (IFRS) in the Nigerian Capital Market and the Nigerian Financial Reporting System at large.

Edward has attended several local and international trainings including but not limited to; Corporate Governance Practice in Emerging Markets/Fixed Income Securities, New York; Housing Finance & Securitization – University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton Real Estate Centre (Wharton), USA; Investment Analysis Appraisal – Omega Centre for Management Development, South Africa; Crown Agent Scholarship – The Economic Crime Scene – Crown Agents Worthing, United Kingdom; Executive Leadership Programme: Realising the Power of Influencing and Delivering Change – Crown Agents International Training Centre, Sutton, Surrey, United Kingdom. He also holds a certificate in Risk Management from the University College, London.

He holds a Masters in Financial Economics from University of Abuja, a Masters in Business Administration from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma and a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) and Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), London. He is also an Associate Member Registered Practitioners in Advertising (Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
